Kieninger grandfather clock movements have been in existence since the Kieninger Clock Company was founded in 1912 by Joseph Kieninger and therefore Kieninger Clock Company is the oldest existing manufacturer of mechanical clock movements for grandfather, wall and mantel clocks in the world. The Kieninger Clock factory celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2002. The company occupies a 45,000 square foot manufacturing facility that was constructed in 1991. It employs about 100 highly skilled workers and staff. Formerly, since 1917, the factory was located in Aldingen, a charming village between the Black Forest and Schwabische Alb. Since 1994, Kieninger has been a part of the Howard Miller Group which is the largest manufacturer of grandfather clocks in the world.
